United Healthcare DSNP
Agents/brokers there is some important information you need to know about the United Healthcare DSNP. In this post we will try and get most of your questions answered about the new UHC DSNP plan. We will try and keep you updated on any information we have that can help you better serve your clients. As always, the first place clients should go with questions about coverage is member services. The number for customer service is either 1-800-643-4845 or they can call the number on the back of their card. Although the numbers may be different, they all go to the same place. In fact, you may want to be on the call with the client to help them get the correct answers.

UHC has sent a letter to all in-network providers so that their billing staff will be aware of the changes.
We have attached a copy of the provider letter that UHC sent out. Hopefully, the letter will give the providers enough information to eliminate or lessen the need for members to contact their agents. Click here to download a copy of the letter from UHC to CT SNP Providers 2019

Please keep in mind, providers bill UHC first. Medicaid receives the bill after that, which can take time. This can lead to confusion for some members when they receive an EOB(explanation of benefits). Members can confuse the EOB with an actual bill. In fact, this is not a bill, they do not need to pay this.
Feel free to download the following information and share it with any providers who are unsure how the dual plan works:

If you have any questions or concerns you can always contact broker services or your UHC sales manger. When you do contact either your sales manager or member services with a client question, you will need to have certain information available such as; Name, address, phone, Date of birth and either member id or Medicare Id#. This information will help UHC get the answers you are looking for in a more accurate and timely manner.
