Walmart/Sams Club Medicare Retail Locations

The Walmart/Sams Club Medicare Retail Locations program allows agents to have an on site presence in high traffic retail locations during AEP – OEP.

Walmart/Sams has made several changes intended to increase traffic to your kiosk.   Agents no longer need to negotiate with store managers.   However, you should create and nurture strong relationships with the store and pharmacy managers.   Those relationships will help drive traffic your way!

In addition, Walmart/Sams Club provides the following.

• Tele-sales agents not closing over the phone will direct prospects to the nearest retail location.
• Your name and contact number prints on all of the store and pharmacy receipts.
• Agents will benefit from the retail advertisement project.   Social media and radio ads will run.   Store televisions will display advertisements.
• You are required to log a minimum of 20 in store hours.   While not required, determining and posting a consistent, set schedule makes it easier for prospects to find you.

How successful are retail locations?

The bottom line is that success depends on you!   Networking and creating an environment that prospects WANT to approach is key!   In addition to the the above mentioned networking, make you physical appearance enticing.   Offer giveaways.   Reach out to local broker managers for branded giveaway items.   You are not restricted to a particular carrier.   Reach out to all of the carriers you are appointed with.   A variety of branded items clearly displayed lets customers know they have options. Get creative.   Be vocal and engage store customers.   The parent with small children in tow may not be looking for Medicare assistance, but they may very well have parents or grandparents that are.

How Does an Agent Participate?

Agents can have access by partnering with a good FMO.
