Medicare Advantage commission 2020 show the maximum commission amounts that agents can receive on an MA, MAPD or PDP plan for 2020. These levels are set by CMS. Keep in mind, insurance carriers are not able to pay an individual agent over the levels. However, some companies may pay less than the max allowable however. But, commission for products can pay out higher compensation levels for agencies that have either a GA or higher contract status.

Medicare Advantage commission 2020 – Medicare part D drug plans
Commission has increased from $74 per member per year to $78 per member per year: As a result, it is a 5.4% rate increase
Commission has increased from $37 per member per year to $39 per member per year: As a result, it is a 5.40% rate increase
Medicare Advantage commission 2020 – MA and MAPD plans
Compensation is by states and regions. However, most states are in the “national comp” category. Some state have their own comp category. For instance, CA and NJ pay a higher comp and are listed in their own category.
CA and NJ, Initial MA commission increased from $601 a member a year to $636 a member a year: Therefore it is a 5.82% rate increase. Renewal commission went from $301 to $318 which is an increase of 5.64%
CT, PA and DC, Initial MA commission increased from $542 a member a year to $574 a member a year: As a result, it is a 5.90% increase. Renewal commission went from $271 to $287 which is a 5.90% increase
Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, will increase from $331 to $350. As a result, it is a 5.74% increase. Renewal compensation went from $166 to $175 a year which is a 5.42% increase
National comp (all other states), initial MA commissions increase from $482 to $510. As a result, it is a 5.80% increase. Renewal commissions increased from $241 to $255 for a 5.80% increase.
