CT Insurance pre-licensing exam
If you have ever thought about selling insurance in CT, you need to know where to take the CT Insurance pre-licensing exam.
Because there is a new vendor for the state of CT who will be administering the pre-licensing exam as well as offering CE (Continuing Education) credit courses, the information in this post is useful to anyone who is currently licensed to sell insurance in the state of Connecticut.
Starting on September 1st, 2021, the new vendor for these services will be Pearson VUE. They will administer the CT insurance pre-licensing exam. Any applicant for the CT pre-licensing exam who plans to test either on or before August 31st, 2021 will still use Prometric, LLC as the exam provider.
You can register for testing with Prometric by August 31, 2021, by going to: prometric.com
Pearson VUE provides Insurance Exam Testing as of September 1, 2021. As of today, they anticipate test registrations to be available as of August 26, 2021. Although, that date is not yet confirmed.

Before you take your test; Please remember to:
- Go over all instructions and rules carefully.
- Do not forget your proper ID.
- Get Plenty of Sleep the night before.
- Be sure to eat a meal or snack before you go to the testing center.
- Give yourself plenty of time to arrive at center at the specified time.
- Do not rush through the test; be sure to read every question very carefully.
Pearson VUE is also offering Connecticut agents CE services. These services are approved by the CT state department of insurance.
Please keep in mind; Prometric will continue to provide CE transactions. These transactions include; new provider, course and instructor applications, provider and course renewals, roster submissions as well as course offering schedule submissions. Prometric must receive these transactions by close of business August 31, 2021.
