Petersen Short Term Health Contracting
Crowe and Associates has now partnered with Petersen International to offer Petersen Short Term Health Contracting to our agents. Short term health insurance is temporary catastrophic health insurance. Short Term health insurance plans do not meet the minimum essential coverage requirements under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, and may result in a tax penalty. They are designed solely to provide temporary healthcare insurance during unexpected coverage gaps. The Petersen short term plans run in 3 month terms. They can be renewed every three months. (Client should renew using the link that is sent to them every 3 months by Petersen.)
Retro Date* (pre-existing conditions): This unique feature will allow you to receive follow-up treatment for covered accidents
or sicknesses that occurred in prior policies. The retro date allows the insured to re-apply for coverage and have up to 11 months of
protection without a new pre-existing condition being applied in subsequent policies. If more than 11 months is purchased a new
pre-existing condition exclusion will apply.
Contracted agents will be provided with a link to enroll all applicants online. As a result, Petersen no longer uses paper contracts. Further, Online enrollment with Petersen is quick and easy. Your clients will receive their ID cards and enrollment materials electronically within 2 -3 days of enrolling.
Petersen plans use the first health network. This network is nationally based, with providers in all 50 states. Click here to search for a provider.
