Dental and Vision Plans
Dental and Vision plans are not usually part of traditional health insurance plan coverage. Neither Original Medicare or Medicare supplement plans cover dental or routine vision care. Although, Original Medicare will cover medical conditions of the eyes. However, some Medicare Advantage plans do offer Dental and Vision coverage. Our agents have the ability to give clients peace of mind with our standalone plans.
Dental Plans:
Because the selection of a dental plan often relies on the provider networks, we offer our agents access to various dental carriers. Currently we have contracts available with Cigna Dental, Solstice Dental and Ameritas Dental as well as MetLife Dental. The Networks, pricing, benefits and compensation vary by company. It is important to note; some dental plans have a waiting period for those enrolling. Some carriers will waive their waiting period, if the prospect currently has a dental plan in place. Most, but not all, dental plans are available to clients both under and over age 65. Because of the CMS regulations, dental plans offered with a Medicare Advantage plan are not permitted to have a waiting period.
Vision Plans:
Vision plans not only offer coverage for eye exams, glasses and contact lenses, some cover LASIK services as well. The vision plans we currently offer include; EyeMed, Solstice Vision and MetLife Vision. Most stand alone vision plans have premiums that range from $10 to $25 a month, depending on the amount of coverage. These plans usually use a list of approved vendors. Some Medicare advantage plans have vision benefits built into the plan. Benefits vary, but usually cover routine services and up to $300 towards frames, lenses and contacts. Please note; original Medicare or Medicare supplement plans do not cover routine visions services. They will however, cover medical conditions associated with the eyes such as cataracts or glaucoma.
