Medicare Advantage Commissions 2020
The Medicare Advantage Commissions 2020 are now available. Every year, CMS informs brokers, agents and carriers how much commission can be paid on a MA,MAPD, PDP, Cost and private fee for service plans. The payment amounts for 2020 are now available. CMS sets different payments amounts by state. Most of the states are the same but, a few are different. As a result, we have them listed in 4 categories.
Medicare Advantage Commissions 2020 – National compensation category
The first commission grouping is the national category. This group is the largest because, it includes most states.
The initial MA commission for this group has increased from $482 to $510. In other words, this is a 5.80% increase. In this catagory, the renewal commission rate has increased from $241 to $255 (an increase of 5.80%).
Medicare Advantage Commissions 2020 – NJ and CA
CA and NJ have a higher commission rate, therefore they are listed in their own category.
The initial MA commission in CA as well as NJ, has increased from $601 a member per year to $636 a member per year; (an increase of 5.82%). Renewal commission in these 2 states went from $301 per person to $318 per person; (an increase of 5.64%).
CT,PA and DC
In Ct, PA and DC the initial MA commission has gone up from $542 a member per year to $574 a member per year. In fact, this adds up to a 5.90% increase. Renewal commission went from $271 per person to $287 per person ( a 5.90% increase).
Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands
For the areas of Puerto Rico as well as the US Virgin Islands, commission rates will increase from $331 per person to $350 per person. In other words, an increase of 5.74% . The renewal compensation has gone up from $166 per person to $175 per person each year. This means an increase of 5.42%.
